This is an A320 business class seat, but the seats are the same as economy class seats, and the center of the three rows of seats is collapsed for a side table to increase the privacy of each business class seat.

This business class style is often seen on short-term flights on European airlines, but if you had this type of seat in business class, you would probably feel a little disappointed...

Air Macau A320NEO Business Class

This is the business class seat of the Air Macau A320NEO aircraft that I boarded on my return flight (Macau → Osaka).

The equipment here typically features standard Business Class seats for short-haul routes. So if you're flying Business Class with Macao Airlines, it would be better to choose the newer A320NEO aircraft.

As you go deeper into the business class area, you will enter the economy class area. The economy class seating arrangement consists of three rows of seats on either side of the center aisle.

In terms of specifications, the seat width is just under 18 inches, which is the same as economy class seats on other airlines. The seat pitch (width of the front and back seats) is approximately 30 inches, which is also standard.

When people actually sit down...

Here is what it looks like when a person actually sits on Air Macau's economy class seat.

This time, when we checked in at the airport counter, the ground staff asked us, [Would you like to sit in the emergency exit row?] and we answered [Yes!]

So we were assigned seats in the emergency exit row, which provided ample legroom. Additionally, the seat width was standard and comfortable.

In terms of ride comfort, it feels comparable to economy class on Japanese airlines such as ANA and JAL.

Seat recline

However, the recline of the seat is very limited, and the middle seat in the photo above has been reclined all the way, but as you can see, it has hardly reclined.

Well, since the flight itself was short, lasting about 4 hours, most people didn't recline their seats during boarding. In terms of atmosphere, it felt similar to taking a domestic flight, so imagining that kind of experience might be helpful.

Air Macau's A320/A320NEO is a short-haul flight, so seat amenities such as lumbar pillows and blankets are not provided, but if you request the flight attendant, they will bring them for you.

No personal monitor

Folding table

A foldable table used when eating meals onboard. Please make sure to check if the angle is not tilted before using it.

...The reason being, on the outbound flight, the table at Mizuki's seat was poorly maintained, and the angle was significantly downward. Without knowing this, when I placed an apple juice on the table, the cup slid off, resulting in a tragic event where Mizuki's clothes were covered in juice (lol).

I think it's probably just a coincidence, but be careful when using it.

Armrest

The armrest is equipped with a controller for in-flight announcements. Depending on the equipment, earphones may be attached to the top of the armrest or on the side, but earphones are not provided.

Air Macau newspaper service

Newspaper service is also available in Economy Class on Air Macau. After boarding and before the plane takes off, flight attendants will be passing around with newspapers, so if you need them, you can ask them. However, the newspapers are in Chinese.

I can read it with Google Translate

For this Chinese newspaper, if you download the Chinese (simplified/traditional) and Japanese data using the Google Translate app and hold it up to Google Lens, it will translate and display parts of it in Japanese, so you can see what it says. I can roughly understand it.

When boarding Air Macau, you may be able to enjoy your flight even more if you have the Google Translate app handy.

USB charging

Air Macau's A320NEO aircraft are equipped with USB charging ports in the footwells even in economy class. Older A320 aircraft may not have this USB charging port, so if you're concerned about your smartphone's battery life, don't forget to bring an in-flight rechargeable battery.

The ceiling of the seat is equipped with a fan, reading light, and attendant button for the flight attendant.

There are restrooms onboard airplanes, one for business class at the front and one for economy class at the back. When I observed Air Macau's restrooms during the flight, I noticed that flight attendants frequently went inside to clean them, so they should be comfortable to use during the flight.

The restrooms are equipped with diaper changing tables, paper cups, and other supplies, but there are no toothbrushing kits. If you want to brush your teeth after your in-flight meal, prepare your own.

After all passengers have boarded and boarding is complete, the in-flight safety video is shown on monitors installed in the ceiling of the aircraft. Once the aircraft enters a stable route and the seatbelt sign is turned off, you can use the WIFI service onboard Air Macau's aircraft.

It's very easy to use; just leave your smartphone in airplane mode, turn on WiFi, and connect to Air Macau. Then, open your browser and access [ife.airmacau.com.mo] to enjoy flight information, video programs, and other in-flight entertainment.

This in-flight WiFi service allows your smartphone to serve as your personal monitor, so it may be reasonable not to have a personal monitor at your seat.

However, depending on the flight, this WiFi service may not work well, so don't get your hopes too high.

The picture above is of the outbound flight NX855 (KIX→MFM), and the picture below is of the return flight NX856 (MFM→KIX).The inside of the plane was extremely peaceful. The outbound flight had a occupancy rate of 50% to 60%, but the return flight had about 80% of seats occupied.

In-flight meal time has arrived!

In-flight meal service begins shortly after entering a stable route. There is no menu for Air Macau's in-flight meals, but rather a traditional in-flight meal service where you choose one of two menus.

Please note that Air Macau's flights to and from Japan have two Japanese flight attendants on board both the outbound and return flights, so you don't have to worry about language issues.
